Karsith would give the tiny magician points for bravery. But subtracting points for stupidity left the mortal's total score well below zero. No one, not even another dragon could throw flame farther than the King of the Mountain. But the challenge would be honored, and then he would have his little snack. On the count of three, the human stretched back his puny arm and Karsith filled his lungs with an ocean of air. Unfortunately, that ocean contained a small flock of unfortunate migratory snow geese. As the magician's arm shot forward, producing a ball of flame not unimpressive for a being his size, Karsith hacked feathers and crushed bodies out of his windpipe. Feathers, but no flame.
